POSITION OVERVIEW
As a Field Sales Engineer at Quanser, you will play a crucial role in supporting the sales team by helping drive new business opportunities, managing customer relationships, and providing technical expertise on our industry-leading solutions for engineering education and research.
This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for a technical professional, who possesses client support, business development, and sales skills, to support a dynamic technical sales team and engage in various business development activities, for a highly complex and technical product and solution line.

Reporting to the UK Sales Manager, a Field Sales Engineer will work in a direct sales capacity to help achieve the annual sales quota within their assigned territory. This role offers an exciting and challenging opportunity for an Engineer, who is interested in Sales, to build a long-term career as a quota-carrying sales professional. This position plays a fundamental role in the sales team’s ability to achieve our ambitious targets and growth objectives, and is ideal for a technically inclined individual who is eager to learn, develop sales skills, and grow within the company.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:
Sales Support & Customer Engagement
· Assist in lead generation, prospect qualification, and initial customer outreach.
· Engage with universities and research institutions to understand their needs and match them with Quanser’s solutions.
· Prepare and deliver product demonstrations and technical presentations.
· Support the preparation of proposals, quotes, and pricing information for customers.
Technical Expertise & Product Knowledge
· Develop a strong understanding of Quanser’s robotics, control systems, and engineering education platforms.
· Work closely with application engineers to ensure the right solutions are recommended to customers.
· Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor activities.
Collaboration & Communication
· Work alongside the sales and marketing teams to develop targeted campaigns.
· Maintain and update the CRM system with customer interactions, leads, and sales pipeline progress.
· Assist in trade shows, conferences, and university events to promote Quanser’s solutions.
Learning and Development
· Actively participate in targeted professional growth and development initiatives.
· Seek out and identify opportunities to learn and develop.
QUALIFICATIONS
Technical Knowledge & Skills
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related field
· Experience working with a CRM system (i.e. Microsoft Dynamics), would be considered an asset
· 1+ year of Inside Sales and/or Direct Sales experience preferred, but not required
· Basic technical understanding of automation, robotics, and control systems is an advantage.
· Experience with market research and analysis, consumer data insights and research would be an asset
· Proven experience with using data analytics to identify, model, understand and predict sales trends and opportunities would be considered an asset
· Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.)
· Strong presentation skills (online and in-person)
· A proven history of excellence and track record of success
Personal Credentials Required for Travel
· Must possess a clean valid UK Driver’s License
· Must possess a valid UK Passport which will allow you to travel internationally when needed (i.e. to Quanser HQ in Canada)
· Willingness to travel throughout the UK for customer meetings, trade shows, and industry events. Goal is to be on the road 3 days a week.
